Covars (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides recipe and costing tools for bakeries and food producers. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use Covars on web or mobile.

Data we collect

• Account data: email, display name, authentication tokens (via Firebase Authentication).
• App data you enter: recipes, ingredients, costs, products, configuration/preferences.
• Analytics & diagnostics: app interactions and basic device information (via Firebase Analytics); if enabled, crash/performance logs (e.g., Crashlytics/Performance Monitoring).
• Local storage: we may cache data on your device for offline use (e.g., local storage) which syncs when you’re online.

How we use data

• Provide core features (recipe management, costing, exports).
• Sync your data across devices and secure your account.
• Diagnose crashes, measure performance, and improve the app.
• Communicate important changes, security alerts, or support responses.

Sharing

We don’t sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate Covars (for example, Google Firebase services) under appropriate safeguards, or when required by law.

Data retention & security

We keep data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information during transmission and storage. No method is 100% secure, but we continually improve our protections.

Your choices

• Access & update: manage your account details in the app.
• Export: you may export certain data (e.g., PDFs) from the app.
• Delete: you can request deletion of your account and data (see Request data deletion).

Children

Covars is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us to delete it.

International transfers

We may process/store data on servers outside your country (e.g., Firebase regions). We apply safeguards consistent with this policy.

Request data deletion

You can request deletion of your Covars account and associated data at any time.

1. Who can request: the account owner (the email used to sign in).
2. What we delete: your account in Firebase Authentication and your app data stored in Firebase/Firestore (e.g., recipes, costing data) linked to your UID.
3. How to request: send an email from your registered address to mailtocovars@gmail.com. For security, we may ask you to verify basic details.
4. Timeline: we aim to complete deletions within 7 days of verification.
5. Backups & legal: some records may be retained for a limited time in backups or where legally required; these are automatically purged on their normal cycle.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post updates here and change the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be notified in-app or by email.
